With the single “Someday” Cookie is proud to introduce his second album “Stand Tall”.
The very refreshing, up-tempo dancehall tune “Someday”, which is also pretty autobiographic and uplifting, will be available as digital release at May 25th 2012. And this is just the first little appetizer for the upcoming album “Stand Tall” which will follow in September 2012. Watch out for it and stay tuned!

Mit der Single „Someday“ kündigt Cookie sein zweites Album an und zeigt, was die Fans erwarten wird. „Someday“ ist ein Dancehall-Reggae-Tune, der sich auch vor Acts wie Sean Paul nicht zu verstecken braucht und der sowohl eingängig wie auch tanzbar ist. Cookie will mit dem Song frischen Wind in die Radiolandschaft Schweiz bringen und dem verstaubten Image des Reggaes auf die Sprünge helfen. Er singt: “Welcome to the wonderful world of Cookie!” und meint damit auch gleich: Welcome to the wonderful world of dancehall music!

“Someday“ erscheint am 25. Mai 2012 als Digital Release. Damit läutet Cookie nicht nur den Sommer ein, sondern auch das zweite Kapitel seiner Geschichte. Mit dem Song “A Girl Like You” machte der Langenthaler im Sommer 2010 schweizweit auf sich aufmerksam. Der moderne Roots-Song fand Einzug in viele Radioplaylisten und das darauf folgende Album “Like A Tree” überraschte mit einer unglaublichen Vielseitigkeit. Das zweite Album „Stand Tall“, welches im September 2012 erscheint, wird eine ganz neue Seite des Schweizer Reggae-Schaffens zeigen. Urban und modern oder wie Cookie es definiert: „rooted and grounded but versatile“.

Cookies Ziele sind hoch gesteckt und er ist auf gutem Weg, seine Musik in die weite Welt hinaus zu tragen. Längst hat er mit Hilfe von internationalen Veröffentlichungen, des Internets und vermehrten Shows im Ausland die Landesgrenzen gesprengt. Mit der neuen Single „Someday” liefert er nun einen weiteren Hit mit internationalem Potenzial ab.

In late summer 2011 I had that nice showcase at „Kieler Wochen“ a festival situated directly at the sea shore in Kiel Germany. The night before I played another amazing show in Switzerland and afterwards in the very early morning I took the flight to Germany. As soon I arrived there (sooo *“*“ tired believe me) I went to the Riddim Yard / Soulfire Hi-Fi – Studio where I wrote and voiced on a brandnew riddim „Chupacabra“ they produced. My tune on it „Waan Everything“ talks about people like politicians and greedy rich folks and multinational companies who exploit and terrorize this world and it’s inhabitants. You will certainly hear a likkle pain in my voice while singing about this topics.

After voicing the riddim, the fellows from Riddim Yard wanted even to do a video clip of the tune, which we also did the very same day (still no sleep since more than 20 hours!) I finally went to the festival and muuuuuushed it up completely! It was maaadd!! And then it was finally time for me to get some sleep!

Anyway… the „Chupacabra“ – selection has a lot of potential in the dancehalls of this world I guess and it features a big line up as well! So don’t waste time, get my tune „Waan Everything“ or better the whole selection now on Itunes & Co.
And… „… don’t get victims of babylon tactics…“ !

“2 Singers / 1 Mission” that’s the name of our latest release starring our two label acts Cookie The Herbalist and Baba The Fayahstudent. This release shows how the very same beat can be interpretated in totally different ways.

While Baba The Fayahstudent big ups his wife and mother of his children on “Greatest Gift”, Cookie singjays about “The Same Ol’ Story” which is waiting on us almost daily in this world out there.

As it is usual in Reggae we wanted to present a nice little medley video for this release.

It wasn’t very easy to find a common style and atmosphere due to the thematic diversity of both tunes. But on the search for it, we figured out that it doesn’t really matter if we’re standing in a green field or inside a grey factory building, it doesn’t matter if we’re old or young if we’re crying or smiling. Because music touches all of us in a different own and specific way. Where one will expect a lovesong from a certain sound and melody another will maybe expect a melancholic song from the very same sound. So it doesn’t really matter at all where the video takes place, the music will hit us in it’s own way anyway.

And it’s exactly this idea that we wanted to convert to a video. So we placed our two artists in front of a grey wall, added some “everyday life” – video projections to it and then we’ve let the songs work with their own specific and strong lyrical power.

These two tunes will awake completely different emotions and deliver totally different storys although having kind of the same rooted and grounded vibe.

On a cold and freezing winter evening we drove to a remote factory building somewhere in a hopelessly sad and dirty industrial area. On the other side of the building, construction workers and mechanics worked hard with huge machines while our film team illuminated the grey walls with exspensive camera material.

The air smelled like boiling oils and gasses and heated up metal. When everything was ready and set and the first melodies from Baba’s song “Greatest Gift” rang out the shooting could finally start. A bit later when Baba’s part was filmed, the same riddim rang out again but this time with Cookie’s a bit more melancholic song “Same Ol’ Story”.

Our brandnew medley video with the two songs on the Pot Of Gold Riddim (by renomated german producer Ganjaman) is to admire starting from today on Youtube & Co. The “2 Singers I 1 Mission” single release is available on Itunes & Co. since December 12, 2011.

There was that tune called „Cyaan Stop“ by Cali P and Cookie The Herbalist on Cookie’s first EP „The Good Weed“….

„Cyaan Stop“ made it’s way true the whole globe and since the dubplate of it appeared on the big american Ski Movie „Every Day Is A Saturday“ by Redbull and Salomon, starring big Ski Stars such as Tanner Hall and C.R Johnson (RIP), it turned to a real big tune rocking almost every dancehall and Ski resort on the planet!

And now almost 4 years later, our remix junkie Max Rubadub made a hot and blazing remix of that tune! This is our christmas present to all of you family, friends and fans! Enjoy it spread and share it! Let us melt the ice! In that sense: MERRY X-MAS to all of you!!!

About one year ago we developed some ideas for a videoclip to the song „Inna Mi Car“. It was clear to us: „this has to be Cookie’s first official videoclip“.

After many hours of work, much sweat and a few sleepless nights, we are now very happy and proud to finally present the „Inna Mi Car“ -- video to the public.

The clip takes place in imaginary places that only exist in Cookie’s dreams and which we had to generate a very special computer animated world for.

But now it’s better if you follow the link below and check out the video. You certainly will like it! In that sense: ENJOY IT! …. (and don’t drive too fast with your car… )
