Press text (german version below): Some time ago Cookie, started his way in a Swiss Reggae scene predominantly dominated by Reggae in Swiss dialect, as one of the only artists singing in English. 2008 he presented his EP “The Good Weed” and the Dancehall hit tune “Cyaan Stop” in collaboration with the Singjay Cali P. This tune made its way into many international Skate-, Freestyle Ski and Snowboard videos such as “Every day is Saturday” by Redbull and Salomon. It reached the status of a “must be tune“ at every Freestyle event.

After the predominately Reggae oriented “The Good Weed” – EP, Cookie the Herbalist strikes back with a tune for the Dancehall. On a Riddim by Pianomigi, Keyborder of the Dubby Conquerors – Band, Cookie will release the tune “Who Dem” on the 15. of May 2009.
„Who Dem“ is a more than dancable tune including everything that Dancehall has to offer at the moment. Cookie’s voice partly runs through the autotune (a often used studio gadget nowadays), elsewhere his voice dominates the Riddim with it’s roughness. The Riddim supports Cookie’s lyrics with Dancehall suited one drop’s and gunshots.
„This ain‘t no MTV – out there it‘s not like pon TV, a true life that, a true reality“. This is a line from the new tune, which couldn’t better describe the songs message.
This tune isn’t mainstream at all, maybe it is too hard, maybe radio stations will ignore it because of its lyrics. But this tune will for sure rock every Reggae Party at primetime! Like we use to say: … out there it’s not like pon TV….
