better late than never: Swiss reggae artist Cookie The Herbalist has been awarded an official Billboard chart plaque for his song “EAZE!”, a collaboration with the late Jamaican icon Lee “Scratch” Perry.
Originally released in 2017, „EAZE!“ appeared on the international compilation Tropical House Cruises To Jamaica (2018), which achieved major chart success by spending four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart and remaining 18 weeks in the Top 10.
The compilation features an outstanding lineup of global artists, including Ed Sheeran, Sean Paul, Shaggy, Stephen & Damian Marley, Wyclef Jean, Chronixx, Sizzla Sean Kingston and others, positioning „EAZE!“ as part of one of the most successful reggae-related releases of the decade.
The song was created in close collaboration with Lee “Scratch” Perry, who was not only a musical partner but also a mentor and guiding force to Cookie The Herbalist. „EAZE!“ reflects Perry’s later artistic phase — conscious, minimal and spiritual — delivering a timeless message of peace, humanity and inner balance.
“This plaque is a long-overdue but deeply meaningful recognition — not only for me, but for the work I was fortunate to create alongside Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry. The message of ‘EAZE!’ feels more relevant today than ever.”

With the presentation of the Billboard plaque in December 2025, “EAZE!” is now being brought back into focus.
